I agree that killing or hurting is wrong whoever does it. But what is going on here is nonsense. The majority vote for one candidate, and those who voted for the losing say there was cheating and march. OK, so march and take the issue to court - but why all this "Iran is a dictatorship" business?

WHY doesn't the votes of those who support Ahmedinijad count? It makes no sense.

Please Iranians, whichever side you're on, don't hurt each other!

But I say again, Ahmedninijad has lot's of support including mine!

Ali, Tehran, IRAN!

I like that you say that. But look there are 30 millions votes in Canada, and they cannot be counted in 4 hours. SO accept that there is somthing going on. Just allow recounting or repeating the vote. If everything is honest there is nothing to be scared of.

The proof that the election was rigged is in the way the government continues to suppress all communications into and out of Iran. If they have nothing to hide, then there is nothing to fear. And yet, they fear. The proof is in the overwhelming numbers who have gone out, all over Iran, to protest the results. The proof is in the threats made by the government towards the public.

THE WHITE HOUSE

Office of the Press Secretary
_______________________________________________________________
For Immediate Release June 20, 2009

Statement from the President on Iran

The Iranian government must understand that the world is watching. We mourn each and every innocent life that is lost. We call on the Iranian government to stop all violent and unjust actions against its own people. The universal rights to assembly and free speech must be respected, and the United States stands with all who seek to exercise those rights.

As I said in Cairo, suppressing ideas never succeeds in making them go away. The Iranian people will ultimately judge the actions of their own government. If the Iranian government seeks the respect of the international community, it must respect the dignity of its own people and govern through consent, not coercion.

Martin Luther King once said - “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.” I believe that. The international community believes that. And right now, we are bearing witness to the Iranian peoples’ belief in that truth, and we will continue to bear witness.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Amen.
If CIA and MOSSAD and MI6 paid agents say 'It was rigged election' that's enough evidence for those willing to be easily manipulated by echo-chamber of NATO-newsmedia.
Naturally, there is no ACTUAL evidence of election fraud, and this is just a bad case of 'sour grapes' by the CIA in revenge for its failed 'color revolution'.
A: God doesn't think he is 0bama
Milad said...
Lets say the case of superhuman poll counts or incredible offset in the votes is not proof enough. The people know from the outset that the election is an illusion anyway, and Khamenei has the final world on all accounts. What these protests outline is the bitterness and frustration of the young generation of brilliant, innovative, and educated people who no longer want their lives to be run by backwards and religious laws. Be it instigated by the CIA or MI6, the will of the people is quite clear, and anyone who is claiming that Ahmadinejad has such a huge following, well lets see your group putting your life on the line.
This is not just about an election, this is about freedom now. Down with dictatorship.
By the way, Basij are the scum of the earth.
What sort of acid is being sprayed from the helo's? I am translating with google and it isnt acurate. Is it burning imediately? If not see if someone can take a litmus test. HF acid doesnt start burning until 12 hours after and causes horrible burns! Calcium gluconate will reverse the effects when wiped on the skin. Anything with calcium could help. Figure out what this crap is they are spraying!
Benjamin the Donkey said...
also, beware of provocations
the case of the girl fatally shot this evening by an alleged basiji sniper on rooftop seems a classic example
why would the Ir.Govt wish to commit such an outrageous injustice which can only arouse anger and opposition?
cui bono from this crime?
Anonymous said...
This is from THINK in America. In my view, he election, rigged or not, serves as a point of departure from the current political (which means religious) order (Supreme Leader and that sort of thing). The uprising (as such) is really about the people and the lives they want to lead--particularly women who are oppressed!
The much larger issue in Iran, aside from any long-term perspective on Demoratic rule, is how the idea of Democratic rule in Arab, Muslim, and African countries will take center stage as part of the world discourse.
In the Arab and Muslim world, for example, there has been considerable dicussion about the issue of the Palestinians--as there should be. But what about democratic rule in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and other Arab/Muslim countries where people have no rights, jobs, or real future wheile the leaders and their families and cronies live like kings and queens?
Students, workers, and the oppressed should take notes for the Iranians and rise up against the tyranny in Muslim and African countries.
Obama is playing this wisely. He has clearly stated that the protesters should have the right to protest without retribution. Now that being said, this is an Iranian protest/revolution. You guys don't do the same mistakes! Don't allow influence from outside, but not from the inside, either. Just do what your hearts and minds tell you to, don't listen to the indoctrinated popes, but also not to those that would have an interest in violence and murder, followed by anarchy.
LOL. I knew this was coming. The new definition of racist is someone who is winning an argument against a leftist.
I would be delighted to have a competent black person, perhaps someone like Condoleeza Rice, be president. But thats too much for idiots like you to understand. Just because I oppose 0bama and his disastrous domestic and foreign policies, makes me a 'racist' in simple minds like yours.
People are dying in the streets of Tehran in protest against an authoritarian regime that has suppressed freedom. Exactly the kinds of thing that 0bama wants for the USA.
This whole thing reminds me of the Tea Party protests of April 15 in the USA. The 0bama worshippers can't stand it when someone criticizes their god, so they attacked the protestors and called them racists.
Likewise, you leftwing idiots can't stand it when I criticize your god's ho-hum response to the valiant efforts of the Iranian freedom fighters. You don't even try to counter my arguments with anything of substance. All you have to say is crap like "don't you have a trailer park to go to?"
Serafima from Russia again:
As sad as it is to see unarmed people slaughtered in the streets by well prepared anti-riot force, It is clear, that if asked for nothing, nothing will be obtained.
You demands for justice and democracy are fair, and people of the whole world are with you. Islamic Republic is, actually an oximoron, the theocracy should be ended. Khomeni should be tried as a criminal for declaring the war on his people, and blaming everyone but himself, as usually dictators do. Stalin killed 50 millions of people, and I hope, your loss will be much, much smaller. Do not let yourself to be fooled, or intimidated, but be careful and prepared.
And , Americans, please ignore trolls here, it is not a place for discussing Obama here, people are dying in the streets here, please have respect and dignity, and do not turn this blog into political quarrels. I think, Obama did much better than Russian president did. But that does not matter here at this moment. Wish you all the strenth and clear thinking even at such a stressful, but historic event.
There was a time when we only knew each other through headlines and news stories. If it didn't effect us-we simply shook our heads, and said "that's too bad" and went back to our comfortable lives.
But now that tragic news events are no longer just an abstract headline and we are able to directly reach out to each other-distance and borders cease to exist other than being lines drawn on a map.
I am awed as I scroll through the various posts from nations all over the world. Regardless of nationality, the color of our skin or our spiritual beliefs-we are embracing each other as brothers and sisters.
For those of us outside of Iran-we long to tell you how we wish we could be there with you-standing shoulder to shoulder as you face the dawn of each new day, not knowing what lies ahead. It pains us to know that you are having to fight so hard for the most basic of human rights and freedoms that are certainly due anyone living in a civilized world. Our hearts grow heavier each day as we learn of your heroic struggles especially knowing that, for many of us, words of solace is all we have to offer you at this time. We weep for you and with you as we learn of each tragic death.
As a result of the last week-I am now convinced that for all wars to finally end and for world peace to finally begin-that this miracle will not come about from those leading our nations but as a result of the multitudes of people just like the ones posting on this site refusing to accept anything less from our leaders.
I know in my heart that I will never forget having been a witness to the courage shown by our Iranian brothers and sisters this last week. If someday I should ever be called on to make that level of sacrifice-I pray that I have within me just a tiny bit of the heart and courage they have shown this last week.
!!Very IMPORTANT!!
!!Please Please Please!!
1. Some people incuding me, tried to bring the Iranian govt servers down by going to "Pagereboot"
Avoid this. Because the Iranian network bandwidth is very limited right nw. In this way we make it more diffucult for Iranian from Iran to communicate.
2. Do not discuss in here, espacially do not use bad words. It makes bad sense in the world.
Thanks.
Military soldiers of Iran it is your duty to protect the brave protesters against the militia.
Your loyalty should be for the people not the elite caste of clergy.
Be brave. Do your duty. Show your loyalty. Love your people. They are dying for you.
It's encouraging to hear the international outpour of support for the Iranian freedom fighters.
Unfortunately, here in the USA, 0bama and his worshippers want to suck up to the mullahs.
There was a rally here in Atlanta, Georgia yesterday in support of the brave Iranian people taking back their country from the band of tyrants running it.
You are in our prayers.
In the name of god they are beating, killing. Who can think a seconde that tehy will get off with it. This is the begging of the END. They have short memory. Who did the revolution in 1979? The same will bring down you. World is watching, world is behind you.
It's amazing to see how the cyberworld has come alive to what is going on in Iran. But there still needs to be more. We need more supporters. We need more people willing to raise awareness and generate a massive and overwhelming response to demand Justice for Iran. Thank you for your faithful documentation.
It appears to me that these protests are not spontaneous but well organized by a group of people. So precise information given here about events happening in Tehran seems for me suspicious. Moreover, the information given here is in English. Therefore, this group aims to create a strong impact on the international public. You - people are considered as zombie that will serve its masters. These masters are good psychologists, by the way. They need you to help them to steal the power in the country. Those dead people in Tehran fell for the power you will never have. Their leaders led them to this slaughter, led for nothing, and death their will be "soon" forgiven between peoples. Let us see what their "truth", and God be their judge, show us who they truly are.
