On Monday June 22, 2009, many of the cars in Tehran drove with their headlights on in solidarity with those killed by armed government militia on the streets over the past few days.

On this day, more than a thousand demonstrators and approximately five hundred armed anti-demonstration forces gathered in Haft-e Tir Square at a demonstration planned to protest the latest presidential election results. Some of the demonstrators gathered in silence holding candles, but government militia forces stormed them in an attempt to disperse the crowds. Eyewitness reports claim that demonstrators were met with armed militia, some of whom were in plain clothes. As in previous days, government forces used tear gas and beat demonstrators with batons in order to disperse them.

Elsewhere in Tehran on Monday, approximately 200 anti-demonstration forces locked down Laleh Park, turning the park and the nearby Shaheed Shiroodi sports club into a makeshift headquarter for uniformed and plain-clothed government militia.

Eyewitnesses report that, with helicopters flying overhead, armed forces shot bullets in the air to disperse demonstrators and to prevent others from joining the crowd.

Over the course of the past few days, at least 800 individuals have been arrested and many have been killed by government forces while unknown numbers have been injured in the streets. Figures are hard to assess, as many do not seek medical attention in hospitals for fear of being arrested by the militia patrolling emergency care centers to arrest incoming care seekers.

Iranian national television continues to refer to these demonstrators as terrorists.

Does anyone know if it's possible to give the information of this blog to other Iranian guys maybe trough skype or myspace or if also these programs and sites are censured for them!?

* She was shot and taken away by security [..] her body was buried secretly and without informing her relatives;

* Officials have requested the payment of $ 3000 for the "tax on bullets" used by security forces to the family of the student killed;

* Anyone who joins the demonstration launched by Mir Hussein Moussavi, and will not work will be dismissed;

This is unacceptable once again!
Iranian have to continue all togheter! Love You.

Ciao Beppe,

people throughout the world have hope because of you! the brave people of iran will lead islam into democracy - something that nobody from outside can ever do, nowhere. all the fundamentalists are seriously afraid of you. democracy and islam are not opposites. dictators shake hands with dictators. in the name and with the means of religion and other ideologies they manipulate people, create fear end exploit the countries. don't trust china, russia, usa, france and uk- they are the biggest producers of weapons. even if they have nice presidents, their economy still depends on selling weapons - even to you. the iranian women deserve great respect, one day they will teach their sons to trust their own heart and understanding. the many thousand basij in your country are a big problem in the future, even if you win your struggle, because they will still be there. the people from the cities have to care about the people in the countryside and not laugh about them when they are simple and less developed, and the country people should learn from the open minded people of the city. the different families in the county, lori, kurd, azeri, persian, nomads, arabs have to collaborate with respect and help each other. respect your yahudi, your zartosht people, and others, who are part of your memory, even if you wear green. cool down a bit with martyrdom, your regime abuses the emotions of this kind of thinking. be rational. learn from the moroccan philosopher al-jabri, although he is sunni. we have great affections in the west for your poets, your architects, your filmmakers, your experience, your brave hearts. we need you. you are our hope in the east. you can bring some peace to irak, afghanistan and pakistan, because you are a respected culture. don't let the drugs of afghanistan destroy you. you are a very young country, like egypt, like many countries in south america and africa. this is new for the world, nobody knows how your world will be like. the nationalists try to put labels on you, you are this, you are that, and drive you against each other. try to be reasonable. the air in your cities is terrible. the rich countries should not be an example for you, they will never let you have the same like they have. even if they wanted they can't, there is not enough for that many people. the poor cannot become rich, but the rich should become poorer. develop your own new vision. bring back dance to your public life. you are a trader country, but you should actually produce more yourself. don't miss the moment where oil is not important anymore. you can't just export farsh and peste all the time. without a real vision the dictators will make you tired. grow slowly, steadily like a tree. bring happiness. overcome the shia sadness. don't just talk about politics. talk about culture, about family structures, about marriage, about who is able to lead and who isn't. about how you get rid of your torture prisons, of death penalty, of the fascists who stole your youth. your parents were brave, you are their children, you will be successful.

I watch this with great sadness. I see a people who are fed up with their regime and want to change it. A people who crave freedom and who deserve it. But I hear them chanting over and over again, Allah Akbar, Allah Akbar, what do they really want? Do they want to trade in one bad regime for another one? YOU MUST KEEP FIGHTING FOR YOUR FREEDOM, BUT YOU MUST GET RELIGION OUT OF YOUR GOVERNMENT ONCE AND FOR ALL FORE EVER AND EVER OR YOU WILL NEVER NEVER NEVER BE FREE! You should be chanting "What do we want...FREEDOM... When do we want it NOW!!!

Today I listened to people talking about the trivial complaints of an easy life. At lunchtime a young woman in a chador walked by the window with her young son. The men in the office paused their work and silently watched her pass by.
One asked me about Saeed...did I know if he was alright today? One asked if I heard what Obama said about Iran in the News Conference? Another wondered aloud...are we going to do something for the people? The eyes around the room were overwhelmed with anger and sorrow.
One by one I heard them calling home...talking to a wife, a mother, a sister... They realized how much we take for granted...until one young woman walked silently by.
And we remembered the Cultured, Peaceful Iranians being beaten and murdered because they expect their vote be respected, their voices be heard.
Neda and the Spirit of the Iranian People have already changed the world. The World is Witness to all of the Vile Tyranny of the Iranian Government. The World is changed. We see and we will not look away.

It's disgusting to kill in the name of God.

It's disgusting to injure in the name of God.

What kind of religious mentality is that? The answer is, a greedy, corrupt, forceful, self serving fake religion.
